'O Sole Mio'
I think these three kids are going to have a long and prosperous career. Such voices for such young people.

Light of Liberty blog update

I just wanted to touch base with the readers of this blog to go over a few features, some new, some old, that will make your visit more enjoyable.
First, if you are not a member, you should consider joining. Membership, while not necessary, lets you post comments without having to enter all your information every time. It also allows you to avoid the captcha and you can post to items that are older than 30 days without having to wait for that comment to be approved. You can register by clicking the link under the login box or by clicking here.
Second, you can also subscribe to this blog via e-mail. In the right column, there is an e-mail subscription box. If you sign up, you will get, at most, one e-mail a day, usually between 9 and 11 a.m. containing all my blog posts from the previous 24 hours. Some of you have already found this feature. You can sign up at the right or by clicking here.

Major meltdown ...
The blog had a major meltdown Tuesday evening. I am in the process of recovering from it now. I have returned some functionality but some features may not be working. Comments also appear to not be working. Hopefully everything will be functional in the next 24 hours. UPDATE 11:52 p.m. Comments appear to be restored. If you have any problems, e-mail me or post a comment here. I might not know what is not working.Apologies for the downtime

Sorry for the brief downtime.
Apparently, the blog was too popular and I hit my bandwidth limit for the month with five or six days remaining so the site was temporarily shut down. If that happens again, I will have to purchase more montly bandwidth.
Let the debate resume.
Radio appearance today
As you know, I usually appear on "Talk with Ron Williams" on 940 AM at 3:10 p.m. Thursdays. However, the baseball game went long Thursday, so I will be on today. The time is tentatively set for 3:10 p.m.
Hope you can tune in. You can also listen live on the Web at www.espnlima.com.
My two new weblogs
My activity here the last week has been minimal because I was busy creating two new personal weblogs.
Lucente su Vino: This is my personal weblog on all things wine. I am doing this just for fun, so I don't expect my blogging will be excessive, probably no more than once or twice a week. I plan to talk about news in the wine world as well as reviews of wines I drink. This won't be a technical blog on wines, just my impressions in plain language. I may also talk about specialty beers and homebrewing as well as making wine at home. The URL for the new weblog is http://wine.lucente.org.
Jus Sanguinis: This is a chronicle of my quest for dual citizenship with Italy. Under Italian law, I have been a citizen since birth. However, because I was born in the United States, I have to go through the process of having my Italian citizenship registered with the proper authorities. This will also be a low traffic Web site as I will only be updating it as things happen in this long process. The name comes from the philosophy that permits this citizenship and is Latin for "Right of Blood" This weblog will probably have little interest outside myself or other Italian-Americans interested in having their dual citizenship recognized. Still, if you are interested, the URL is http://italian.lucente.org.
Links to the two new Web sites can be found in the right sidemenu on this page. Your login here will be valid there, as well.
Radio appearance on Thursday
I will appear on "Talk with Ron Williams" at 3:10 p.m. EDT Thursday. Be sure to tune in.
The show is on WZOQ-AM (ESPN Radio), which is 940 on your AM dial. If you aren't within the broadcast range of the station, you can listen live by clicking here.
