Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
May you prosper in 2010 (which is, despite what the media are telling us, the final year of the decade) and may you find a little more freedom.
Buon Natale!

Buon Natale a tutti!
May you have a joyous and wonderful Christmas (and a safe one at that).
Thank a veteran!
I know I have posted this video before, but I really do love it and it is so appropriate on the day we set aside to honor our veterans.
Never forget.
America is indeed a beautiful country
An awesome video.

Fourth of July solution to budget problem
Happy Fourth of July!
Enjoy this video of an errant bottle rocket solving the nation's budget problem.
Never forget ...
A video tribute to America's heroes, defenders of the greatest nation to have ever existed in the history of man. While we may be losing our way today, I am confident we will eventually get back on track and stop wasting our heroes' lives on nation building and let them do what they do best: protect the United States so the people can flourish in an environment of liberty.
Buona Pasqua a tutti

Happy Easter. Regardless of whether you believe in the Ressurection, the Easter story gives us a lesson of hope. And in these trying times, we can't afford to ever give up hope.
Great anniversary marked today -- Italian independence

On this date in 1861, the Kingdom of Italy was created.
Modern Italy became unified under the house of Savoy on March 17, 1861, largely through the efforts of Camillo Benso, Giuseppe Garibaldi, and Victor Emmanuel II, who became king of Italy that same year. However, the protectorate of Napoleon III over the Papal States delayed the Italian annexation of Rome until 1870, and relations between the Italian government and the papacy, which refused to concede the loss of its temporal power, remained a major problem until 1929, when Benito Mussolini reached an agreement with the Church.
Italy, or at least the area that is now Italy, has been a crucial player in human history for almost three millenia. It produced the Roman Empire. The empire so changed humanity that even today are lives are in many ways touched by the Empire.
Italy produces the world's finest wines and Italian food is almost universally loved. The Italian language is perhaps one of the most beautiful on the planet.
Its contribution to art, music, science, and architecture is unparalled in human history.
Finally, the most important of all, it produced me!
