Go figure.
I say ...lets not dumb-down the test or the hireing practice of the charter just to pander to folks who can't pass it even with the bonus points. IMO.

If a wack job of a City Councilman comparing himself and his little annoyances to the pain and suffering of Jesus Christ does not offend your sensibilities, I can't help you. Pitts is a supposed to be a representative of the people and when he behaves as erratically as he does, then it needs to be brought to people's attentions.

Tommy Pitts as Jesus Christ?
The Lima News: Pitts defers to charter review
Tommy "Larry" Pitts, one of Lima's Three Stooges, took a dive off the deep end Tuesday evening when he actually had the audacity to compare himself to Jesus of Nazareth:
Is he really comparing Mayor David Berger wanting to move the civil service question from his committee into a different (and more logical) committee with the execution of Jesus? How can any thinking person really believe that a minor disappointment is akin to being tortured and condemned to a slow and agonizing death?
For that matter, does Pitts really think he is bucking the system?
He has done nothing to "buck" the system except to play the race card at every opportunity and complain about imaginary things. He continually blames everyone else for his own problems. For example, his children get caught selling drugs so he invents some grand racial conspiracy in the Police Department.
Pitts might have a point about Berger not talking to him. Berger is an arrogant mayor who doesn't believe in communicating with those with whom he disagrees. However, defending Berger, it probably would not have made a difference had he contacted Pitts. Pitts, like the other two stooges (Ray Magnus and Derry Glenn), does not respond well to logic. Additionally, Berger is right. It makes the most sense that the Charter Review Committee handles the civil service question.
Pitts has really outdone himself this time. I have said it before, he is a child and has no business being on City Council. As long as Lima keeps electing yahoos such as Pitts, Magnus and Glenn, we will continue to get the government we deserve.
